Ooooooohh, where to even begin with this couple!? To start, I cannot say enough what an HONOR it was to be such a special part of their day + to capture what I have deemed their “forever love”. We have SO enjoyed getting to know Shane + Devon over the past several months after initially meeting them for their wedding photography inquiry, + now are so truly grateful for their friendship + impact in our lives!! The more time we spend we these two, the more we learn about them, + have come to realize just what a truly amazing, humble, + God-fearing couple they are. We have learned so much from their relationship + cannot wait to see what will come of their MARRIAGE : ) We just feel so blessed by God for placing them in our lives!
You probably know that we had the incredible opportunity to travel to Los Angeles to shoot their wedding (Devon is from LA!), + while it was so cool to get to see the city, Pacific Coast, + Universal Studios, we can EASILY say that their wedding day was our favorite part of the trip. Watching these two finally become ONE before God, their family, + their friends was a breath-taking event. Their PASSION for marriage + commitment to one another was so evident, + the emotions passed between the two could be felt (in my opinion!!) by everyone in the sanctuary. Their vows of commitment are why I cannot get “forever love” out of my head whenever I think of these two : )
Lots of gorgeous + special details to follow in this post—enjoy it : ) Enjoy THEM!! And have a great Monday : ) -M
The earrings worn by Devon were the same ones her mom wore on her wedding day : )
How amazing is her dress, right!? Well GET THIS … her mom MADE it. Completely from scratch!! I cannot get over this … so, so special!!
Shane’s ring (above left) + Devon’s ring each have the three stones which signify God, self, + spouse. The foundation of their marriage is “I am third”–God first, spouse second, self third <3
I just love these daddy-daughter first looks!!
Best man + brother, Case, getting made fun of for his Homeboy Chips ; )
Momma so proud of her handsome boys : )
Shane + Devon wrote letters to each other that they read before the ceremony : )
I was just in love with these flowers!!!
Ooh, Devon!! Shane is one lucky guy!!
Love this shot Caleb got of the groomsmen praying for Shane–both his mom + dad are also sweetly in the shot : )
Shane explains the meaning of their rings to his groomsmen : )
By FAR my favorite time of the day. Shane + Devon took a special moment to pray together without seeing each other before the ceremony began. Let’s just say there were lots of tears : )
Shane + Devon had a special foot-washing ceremony; before Christ’s death on the Cross, He washed the disciples feet to show them the importance of serving one another–putting their needs before your own. It was really powerful seeing them wash one another’s feet on their hands + knees in their beautiful wedding clothing to signify their commitment to serve one another + pursue this call to selflessness in their marriage.
MARRIED!!!
I LOVE this shot of the bride + groom + their parents … so much joy!!!
Some favorites to follow–so elegant, + timeless!!
Favorite : )
YES!!
Devon made these adorable “Just Married” cans for their getaway car!! Also, did you notice the “JUSTWED” license plate?!
Check out that LA skyline in the background!!
LOVE the succulent escort cards!! So creative!!
Like I mentioned before, Devon is from LA, but Shane is from New York, + the two actually met in WISCONSIN where they both currently live + work!
One of S + D’s good friends made this card box for them + it was a very special gift to the couple : )
Best man, Case, + maid of honor, Katrina, spoke SO highly of the bride + groom.
Really enjoyed this time when we got to sneak away with the bride + groom for a few minutes during the reception to take some pictures on the Bel Air Country Club’s iconic white bridge!!
Caleb’s angle : )
And a sparkler send-off to end a most magical day : )
